The issue of Sex Trafficking and Prostitution amongst homeless youth is not only one of the most heartbreaking, but also one of the most difficult to address. Many youth find that one of the easiest ways to make money on the street is through prostitution. Or they find a place to stay through what is known as survival sex.

But everyday youth are either tricked into prostitution or abducted an forced into sex trafficking. According to recent studies from the University of Pennsylvania, 1 in 5 homeless youth are victims of trafficking.

All of these youth are seeking a safe place to sleep, or work, or food, and in their vulnerable state are the perfect prey for sex traffickers.
